New CME finished, what do you think?
I finally finished my custom center mounted exhaust. I tried several tip styles and configurations and this one appealed to me the most. It is all stainless steel tubing with 304 stainless 3 1/2 outlet tips. I also built another tip with the 2 rectangular tips like the origional z28 tips but I like the look of this one better. Tell me what you think.

I guess Ill be the first to say I dont like it. It doesnt follow any asthetics of the rear of the car and simply looks out of place. Maybe if the tips were more oval it would help, but being perfectly round it doesnt match anything on the rear of the car.

i think a more ovaly tip would look better as well, kinda like the C5 stock tips were. but who am i to say crap, i can imagine you spent a lot of time/hard work making them look as perfect as they do!
i bet some lowering springs and a nice wide rear tire would set it off better like coldkill'nTA said.....
i think it the two outermost tips were sunk in a bit further it would flow a bit better as well. they stick out some because the molding is curved where the tips follow a strait line

Not a fan of it. Those specific tips are too big for that opening. If they were smaller tips that looked more at home it might look better. They hang too far beneath the valence and that is what I dislike most about it.

I considered doing something similar but using the Corsa Truck tips which are angular cut and rotated 90 degs. I have these on my SS truck and really like them. They are still round but with the rotated angle cut they appear to be oval which would look a little nicer as many have mentioned already.
Here is the tips I'm talking about ......
Overall props for effort on doing something different, and If you like them it's all that matters.

I appreciate all the work you put into it, but, I am gonna be honest, I really don't like it at all. The two big CME tips look worlds better. If you would get tips that are more like the B&B Triflo tips and would group two of them together and mount them more like on a Corvette it would probably look better. But really, the real CME tips look the best still by far!
Also...the way it is manufactured, are they all interconnected? Is the pipe to which all the tips attach straight through? In that case, doesn't a lot of the exhaust going to try to go the straight route instead out the tip?
