The ABS sensors sense the wheel speed at each wheel on a 4 channel car and at each front wheel and the rear axle on a 3 channel car. All it is looking for is to make sure there isn't too much of a difference between the wheel speeds. If, say, the fronts locked up, their wheel speed would be zero compared to the rears that would still be spinning, and thus the ABS would kick in. Now, if you have rear tires that are a much larger diameter compared to the fronts, there will be a difference in wheel speed since the rear tires will be covering more ground per revolution. This difference in wheel speed could potentially be enough to confuse the ABS computer, and thus illuminate the ABS INOP light. At this point, ABS doesn't do anything at all. If you strap down on a dyno, it is the same concept...the rear tires spin while the fronts don't, and you get the ABS INOP light until you get off of it.
No ABS INOP light = no worries. If it isn't setting the light, then your ABS is still functioning properly. I run a 295/35/18 in the rear (a 26.1" tire) and a 275/35/18 in the front (a 25.5" tire), and the ABS computer didn't even flinch. I'm not sure what the threshold would be for confusing the ABS computer...never had the money or the desire to try.

Im running 28's on the back and it trips the ASP INOP light, What do i need to do it make the ABS not work anymore, because if i get on the brakes a little on the hard side the modulate and it seems like the car doesnt want to stop. If i remember reading correctly you can pull a fuse. Maybe someone can shed some light on this
