Damn...how tall are you?

My particular B&M Ripper on my T-56 does not have a removable stick, so I can't do it...is yours removable?

Lou's Short stick for Aftermarket Hurst shifters (Competition Plus/Billet Plus) will fit the 1st Gen Rippers with the removable stick....

The 2nd Gen (current) Rippers have a short 1-piece stick, so you can't replace it....

Not sure about the Rippers for the T-5, but from the looks of the stick on yours, I really hope it's a 2-piece

If it is, pull the stick and measure the hole sizes and distance between the center of each hole....

I've had one of my B&M Rippers machined down (still have it, just don't use it right now) 2", so it can definitely be done. It cost me about $75 though.

What did they use to do it? And were they able to keep the same thread pattern?

They removed the stick (the whole thing, bend included), and were somehow able to put it in a lathe. I provided them with the correct die to cut the threads, so yes, it kept the same thread pattern.

there's 2 (horozontal) bolts holding the shift handle lever to the shifter
I sheered the top one,
so it was pivoting on the bottom one.

going back to stock (probably with a lou's short stick)
and possibly going with a McCloud or GMM when I do my clutch.

If that's the case, then you have the older 1st Gen Rippers and you can replace the tall stick with an LSS made for aftermarket Hurst shifters

Thanks. I rather like the seat, a little overpriced, but love it.

Lol. I get that alot. Not only am I short, my clutch is abnormally low. I put a new clutch master cyl on it when I rebuilt the motor (long story as per the reason) and it changed my clutch position to really low. So, being 5 foot 5, and having a very low set clutch means I sit pretty much ON the wheel.

This is in a GTO. The B&M design is without a doubt the worst design I have ever seen. Their design is prone to leaking, breakage of shift handle bolts, loosening of bolts/stripping of threads and eventual complete failure of the shifter. The first time mine broke one of the bolts that yours broke. The second time it broke, I snapped the shifter shaft itself in half shifting into second gear at the dragstrip. Here is a pic. Yea, I know...tons of RTV, but I couldn't get it to seal, no matter how much I put on it.

This is how I drove home from the track.

I have heard of at least 5 other shifters snapping off in the same location. With this experience, I will do my best to NEVER purchase another B&M product.
