i was checkin out some LT headers, and i found pacesetters for $280, and the slp's for around $800 summin....is there a big performance differance between the two?

There is no big power diff. between LTs, just a big price diff. Go w/ the pacesetters and take the left over 520 and finish the rest of the exhaust. If u already have cat-back spend it on something else!

Yeah, get a bigger bullet!

I'm doing the same setup except I bought the 18" bullet from Jegs. The smaller it is..the more loud it will definately be!

Also there would be more rasp with a smaller one?

$280 for pacesetters? must be the non-coated.

DO NOT BUY UNCOATED PACESETTERS. i repeat: DO NOT BUY UNCOATED PACESETTERS.

you want the coating. it helps protect against rust, they last longer, look better and they keep your underhood temps MUCH lower. they're a far superior header. uncoated headers are junk. pacesetters, coated, are only $375. this should be a simple decision.

if you want stainless, stay away from SLP headers. they hang low, are very hard to install and scrape almost everything. kooks, QTP's and stainless works make great LS1 headers. i'd probably go with QTP's as they have high velocity merge collectors for added power and are a very proven header.

i bought my pacesetters the painted ones for 150 brand new i think it was 19x shipped. and from all the clearence issues with slp i wouldnt even think of them. but i dont see the point of spending more for the same product thats a little flashier if thats a word, or something that will eventually ware out anyways. for 150 i could replace that every few years if i had too. at least that was my thinking.

dont be confused, stainless will not wear out, it will outlast the rest of the car. as far as the coated pacesetters go, the heat will eventually get to them so if you plan on having the car forever or for a long time, or even if you live in the north or wet climates stainless wouldnt be a bad investment. i hate to do it but if your on a budget try ebay for some affordable stainless headers.

edelbrocks are very nice from what i've heard. they don't look as pretty as pacesetters, but when you compare them side-by-side, the edelbrock's are so much larger and look so much better made. pacesetters are a great value, but they're made in mexico whereas edelbrock's are made in america. the edelbrock's definitely have better quality control, plus they have better merge collectors. i think this slip-fits have high velocity merge collectors, but they're known to leak in the non-fully welded version.

IMO, the edelbrock's are definitely the better header, but the ti-tech coating isn't as nice as the pacesetter armor coating. just my opinion.

I have pacesetter LTs, I have no problems. They hang kinda low but my car is lowered, but I'm very happy with pacesetter.
