pacesetter vs. slp
#22
Ive got pacesetters and dont have a problem with the headers. As for the y pipe.....I am currently waiting on my tsp true duals. I couldnt get it to stop hitting the floor even with a bump stop and poly mounts.

pacesetter, we need a poll for this
IMO it isn't fair comparing the two, one is simular quality and cost twice as much, hangs too low, has fitment issues, etc. It would be more adequate to compare slp v.s. makes of headers in the same price realm, and it wouldn't come close. I guess that's why it's being compared to a "low end" product.
TSP makes a good y that's bolt's right up to pacesetters.

Yeah I keep hearing about the not so easy install of the y-pipe as others and how no matter what you do it bumps the floor board. I don't think I will ever be ordering that poorly crafted piece. I am going to save up and get the QTP y-pipe. I know they are good quality and worth the money.
I will just do pace setters or Edelbrock headers for now unless I decide I can afford some thousand dollar headers lol. Should only be 5-10 HP difference at most with header and collector designs.
I have not seen the TSP y-pipe, I will have to check that out.

I have the SLP LT's. There wasn't any fitment issues, clearance yes. If you are going to run their y pipe with their cats the cats wont last long. Mine broke up after a few brushes off the top of speed bumps. Who needs cats I've had them since early 03 and no broblems other than the clearance issues, and smog. The y pipe back ( I have their loud mouth as well) is fairly easy to remove and reinstall when needed.

Well heres a old *** thread!!!!
If you go with Pacesetters and deleate the cats your looking at maybe 15 easy rwhp and maybe a few more if your a 6speed.
My car picked up almost a full 4mph in the 1/4 mile by putting the headers on,ORY into a cutout

hmmmm,,,
My SLP's were not that hard to install, i just followed the instructions,,,im stock ride height, and have yet to hit anything with them, including some speed bumps at my daughters school. I dont drive like a madman in all situations either, so maybe thats it.
Pacesetters rust even when coated, not drivin in the rain or snow, etc, etc. ?They are a good header for the price, if you dont mind rusty pipes a year or so later.

Old thread but......
I went with Hooker LTs, Hooker O/R Y, and the Hooker catback all for under $900 shipped.....If you only want PS or SLP I'd go with PS, but I would look into SLP a little bit more now that they've revised the LTs or so they've said
