So I have pressure again in my clutch pedal, and its pretty ******* stiff. BUT, theres still no fluid coming out of the bleeder hole underneath the car.

So let me get this straight.....
A. Pump clutch 3-5 times and hold it in on the last time
B. Release bleeder hole for a second and then tighten back up.
C. Release clutch and then repeat A.


The resevoir with the brake fluid in it for the clutch is not empty anymore. It is still full, and its not draining. It was draining for like the first 45 minutes, and we would fill it up then do A-C above, then fill it up then do A-C, and over and over and over. The reservoir is full now and its no longer needing to be filled, the lines are obviously full with fluid, however the fluid isnt coming out of the bleeder hole.. How many more ******* times do I have to bleed the damn clutch. I bench bled it too, so it shouldnt take this long. Its been about an hour and a half of bleeding.

I hate to sound like an *** but make sure the master cylinder line is seated in the slave cylinder properly, that is what push into that black center button on the braided line to release the fluid into the trans.

how do you seat it properly? your talking about the steel braided line? i had it on, and i just took it off, but is there a certain way to getting it on right?

Another method I've heard is to crack bleeder, push pedal to floor, then tighten bleeder, then release pedal. It's suppose to push much more fluid throug the system. Also, you may want to consider screwing a steve-d slave extension next time the tranny is out - it's a 3 ft line that takes the place of the bleeder screw and allows you to crack the bleeder with the end of the line in brake fluid and makes bleeding much, much easier.

ok question... so i took out the frikin steel braided line and i cant get it back in. my friend was in the car pumping the clutch, and we were bleeding the fluid and after we got through i figured, **** im going to take the steel braided line off because this just ISNT working. so i took it off, my friend left his foot on the clutch pedal while i was removing it because he never heard me give him to goahead to take his foot off.. so now i cannot get the steel braided line back on.. suggestions?

Yes that line is a pain in the *** to get back on but you have to be very patient and turn it ever so slightly and it slides right in.

Joey, i had a similar problem, i tried for a total of 30 minutes to get that braded line plugged back in, what i ended up having to do (and it worked the first time) was to crack the bleeder screw open. i'm sure it let some air into the system, but at that point i didn't care, i just took my time bleeding it and now everything is good!

my master cy linder doesnt need to be filled up w fluid anymore, no more topping off so im thinking its almost bled. how many more times do you guys think? ive got alot of pressure in my clutch, but still not fluid at the bleeder screw/


and BTW where is the STOCK point on the adj. master cylinder? halfway tightened? all the way tight?

drop the trans again and pull the slave out... you'll have an easier time manuevering it, and that would reveal any more serious problems.

i know it sounds like a pain, but i think at this point, it's necessary.

oh....... well now's a good time to learn! lol.

no, see if you can twist the little white plastic piece at the end around to see if it'll fit. these things take some time and a finagling.

personally i have never hooked up this line while the trans was in the car. i've always hooked it up to the slave before i installed the trans.

The line will not go in if there is still pressure in the slave.. youll have to crack the bleeder open, or pull the tranny then plug it in.

Got the car done, and bleeded and ****.. It runs fine, cept the shifts are a bit notchy... Brand new slave cylinder, brand new master, brand new Pro5.0 shifter.. Any suggestions what it could be? Car has 42,000 miles, not abused.. I dont think its the tranny. When I bled it, the fluid was leakin all over so I know its bled right. The master cylinder is adjusted almost as loose as possible, we had it up on jack stands, and we adjusted it. When it was tightened all the way the tires rotated when in gear, even with clutch depressed. When loosened tires didnt move unless clutch was let out.

So I think the master is properly adjusted and ****. Suggestions on what it could be? Shift fork? Loosen master more? More bleeding?

you're wondering what the "notchy" feeling is?

some people say the pro5.0 shifter is a notchy shifter - i would agree with the short stick. but with the stick that comes with the shifter it's like butter.

other than that, i wouldn't have any other input.
