Default any dd tire suggestions for ws6

Im going to need some new tires soon for my ws6 with the original ws6 wheels. I drive it everyday and dont want drag radials are anything thats only going to last 15000 miles. Any suggestions for a tire that still looks awseome but will last me awhile without costing to much. O and I want the widest tire i can fit in the back on stock 17" ws6 rim? not sure if thats 265 or what?

Get Kumho Excsta ASX's, they hook decently well and are a GREAT street tire. They handle great in the rain, and I heard of them lasting a pretty long time, depending on how often you do burnouts. The absolute widest you can get is a 275 on the stock wheel, DO NOT go any wider. No matter what anybody tells you, going wider than stock reccomendations is extremely dangerous!!

I love my BFG KDW's and I haven't gotten them to slip yet (I don't drive the car all that hard) but they perform wonderfully to me.

275/40ZR17 is the stock size and highly recommended. If you must a 285/40ZR17 can go on.

I checked out the Kumho and BFGs that were suggested. THey look like pretty good tires for what I want. So Im thinkin 275 in the back but will 245 in the front look like to big of a diffrence or should i get 265 or 275 in the front instead. Would rather not cause Im payin for alot of other things right now and cant afford too much in tires

THanks for the help guys

Why wouldn't you run the sized tire front and rear like they come stock?

Xsta Z28 im not sure exactly what your saying but if your asking why i dont run 275 all around its mostly because I dont have enough cash to be payin that much for tires right now. And if your askin why I dont stay with 245s well its just that bigger is better.

How about Fuzion ZRi's . . 275/40ZR17 are $109 each at the Tirerack.

The savings between a 245/45ZR17 and a 275/40ZR17 is only nine bucks each . . .

I'd spill the extra dough for the 275's, a 245 on a 9" wheel will look very goofy.

Plus the long term cost savings are thrown out the door since you wouldn't be able to rotate the tires for maximum wear.

bfg kdw are awsome......... right behind the kd and the new gs d3.... but i don't think the kdw have the tread life the originally poster is looking for..... PS i have kdw and love them i have the stock size on the 17x9 ws6 rim....... but i might step up to kd in the future... i have heard the gs d3 are better but i have always looked down at goodyear.... opinions welcome

I have the same opinion of Goodyears non-performance line of tires. However, their higher end tires seem to be of much better quality than their normal street tires. I've been running some GS D3's on my Z and am very satisfied with their overall performance. Don't try and run them in cooler weather, (below 45 or so degrees) they're definitly a warm weather only tire.

I hear decent to good things about the Yokos and the Fusions . . .

The Kuhmos, are decent.

The Sumi's get so-so reveiews . . .

Granted they are all inexpensive tires, so there are going to be draw backs. But rememebre your are asking about a simple DD tire. So any of those should fit your bill.

Check out the www.tirerack.com , they have customer reviews for all tires they sell.
