Question hatch shocks?

hey guys, i kind of have a stupid problem i need help on, my rear hatch shocks went bad and wont hold my hatch up anymore, so i bought some new ones from a guy off ebay and i havent been able to get ahold of him since i bought them , anyways my question is, when they got shipped to me they came in a box but the shocks were pushed half in and they wont budge, i guess i need to know if theres some trick to them to get them to open cause i would like to put them on my car, sorry its kind of vague but i dont know how else to describe it, so if anyone knows something i dont , please help. thanks

If sheer muscle didn't do the trick, I'd send them back.

can you put them on with the hatch closed? i know its a pain in the rear. i dont remember a way to unlock them. maybe put them gently in a vice and pull a little?

now did you mock them up to where they are supposed to be? when i got mine i thought they would not match up, but they fit fine.

Never heard of them being locked. Can you rotate the shaft at all? If not, I would just send them back and try again.

Sorry for the late response.

The point I was getting at is if you can't arrange it and have it reciprocate like it would if installed, then its a lost cause. Why try to Mickey Mouse something you just bought? Its not your fault, its their's, so why lower your expectations? Send it back and take it off your plate.

Just my opinion.

Good luck and let us know the outcome.
