Default Racetronix is in,still having problem, sponsors help!

I was having an issue alittle while back on fuel pressure being at 61psi at cold start and then after about 20 mins going to 55psi,40 mins at 51psi and 60 all the way down to about 42psi and dropping even more at wot. I took out my inline walbro and hot wire kit. Determined it was the stock intank.

Today i installed the intank racetronix kit. Same problem. Could it be a bad regulator? Also i havent installed the racetronix wiring kit yet. Could that be it? It will drop down in psi just sitting there running at idle no throttle. Please help im going crazy.

Thanks
Alex

Sounds like the intake pressure regulator.

I'd be surprised if it was the factory regulator since it's just an orifice.

I'd throw a volt meter on the purple and black wire at the tank and see what voltage you're getting at startup vs idle when the psi drops first.

What voltage would be okay. Also if it wasnt the regulator whats left that could cause this problem?

I'd agree with onfire, you would like to see a full 13+ volts at the tank, but it's not likely with your factory harness. You will probably see 12.1-12.5 volts at idle, and you want to see if it's dropping when the psi drops. If it does this, installing your Racetronix harness should solve the problem by providing a full 13+ volts.

Hope this helps,
Ed

I just checked the voltage still with no racetronix wiring harness. I get 13.2v at cold start and the fuel pressure is 61-60psi. After about 20mins goes down to 12.8v and pressure is at 55psi. If you shut the car off and restart it, it is still at 12.8 but pressure is at 50psi. This is how it happens every time. Battery voltage is 13.8 and fuel pump is 12.8.

Ummm, perhaps one of the reasons for the low number of replies is the fact that you asked for sponsors only. I would never reply to such a thread, even if I knew the answer, because I am not a sponsor. Just my opinion.

Not a problem, just trying to help. IMO, you had the opposite effect. The sponsors on this site are very helpful and usually go through all the posts.
I am not an expert on LS1s, but I would not suspect the tune. I would look elsewhere. Since you don't have an FPR, I would probably start with voltages.

Some quick basics:

Cant' be the tune...this is a pump, restriction, guage, fuel filter, electrical, etc type problem.

How much does the pressure drop at wot with the Racetronix vs the inline you had?

As fuel warms up you will drop some pressure at idle. 4-5psi would not bother me. 8psi would.

Have not had a chance to do any full throttle runs due to weather in Chicago. Im going to install the racetronix wireing kit on Wednesday. I didnt think it would have an effect on the car at idle but its worth a shot. I would imagine 12.8volt would be enough for the pump to push out 60psi and not 50psi.

I know the racetronix instructions prefer the wiring kit to assure proper voltage. Its a direct feed from the batt.
