Default LS1's in factory LT1 cars

I'm throwing some things around in my head right now. How hard is it to put an LS1 in a car that came with an LT1? It it pretty simple? If i had both cars there is it just a matter of swapping stuff? Are the K members the same? Anyone have an article or link to this having been done before, step by step directions? anything of the sort will help!

I'm window shopping for mine right now. I already talked to Speartech. They said that they can do the harnesses custom and the LT1 cluster would work, fans would work, fuel pump would work, etc. A little over $500 I think.

Post up in the conversions hybrid section .... but yeah, the k-member swap and then everthing else goes right in. Need a custom wiring harness if you want plug and play, if not, swap the complete harness in from the wrecked car like some people have done.

If you have both cars side by side you can pretty much swap over the entire harness fuel lines gastank and such (that's a hellva lota work) or like other people said just get a conversion harness from somebody and just plug and play. It's up to you what you want in the end.

Also, if you plan to add a cam.. change your oil/fuel pumps, put longtubes in, or do anything of the sort, do it now, or have it done now. 10 times easier, 10 times cheaper.
