Cammed, now for engine safety?
Well i got my car cammed and its running great. Now i would like to preserve the engine so i can concentrate on life and building up the rest of the driveline. would hate to have to drop a few grand just cuz the engine fails on me.
It is a 40k ls1. Nno premature wear on anything that I could tell from dissassembly. I do a good job changing the oil every 3000 miles. As extra safety. With my cam, i used prc duals, chromoly pushrods, ls2 timing chain, ls6 oil pump, new spark plugs. I also tuned the car with hptuners and a wideband (needs a slight bit more idle tuning but it runs great.) I have very good oil pressure and i wait for the car to warm up before running it hard. ( have oil temp gauge that i watch). I don't have a problem with missing gears and i have my rev limiter set at 6600 (I think i should be good till 6800 but im bein a bit conservative here).
Anything else i should do to make sure i dont throw a rod, spin a bearing, or kill something else?

a 2002 has pretty stong rod bolts and will have 0 problems spinning to 7k.
if you want to preserve your motor.. have a professional tune it, that would be the biggest thing to kill an engine
