I did it, I am head and cams with one of thier cams. The tune they gave me got the car to idel good and it put down 410hp and 383 torq, but it had way more left in it as they did not change timing and IFR and other things. It will start you off but I would def get a dynotune

Buy your own tuner at www.hptuners.com No more leaving things out... Hell all they do is upload their hard work original tune, charge you bookoo's only to do it over/over. In fact there is a good # of free uploadable tunes available for HPTuner owners that are ready to go for several of the popular Texas-Speed products. To bad they lock their mail order tunes. Until then send that $$$ to them.

Our mail order tune will get your car extremely close to what you will so out of a dyno tune. We DO infact change timing and injector flow rate among sevaral other adjustments to get your car as close as possible without the use of a dyno. We always encourage customers to have their car dynoed to check the tune. If any changes need to be made, send the computer back to us and we will be more than happy to retune it at no addition charge! We do NOT and never have locked computers after we tune them incase the customer wants to have the computer adjusted while they have it on the dyno. I had a customer last week that called and had another reputable shop do a dyno tune after we had done a mail-order tune. The car picked up another 3 RWHP! He payed $125 through TSP and $450 to the shop doing the dyno tune! The mail-order tune is well worth the money!

Hmmm... Now, $125 I might do. What kind of gains do you think a '99 with LS6 intake, long-tube headers and dual e-cutouts might possibly gain? My car seems to be running lean on me and I don't have O2 sims in back. Think it would it be worth it?

People going dry N20 should probably still leave it up to a dyno tune, though, right?

a MO tune is fine for breaking a car in...it will get you around town and wont hurt the vehicle...a DYNO tune is always recommended however...for maximum performance..

I have a MO tune on the way just so I can break in my t56 rebuild and Textralia, as well as the valvetrain...soon after will come a dyno tune

Jesus Christ!? I dealt bullets and you guys pulled out a basket of flowers! Thanks Texas Speed! Sorry I pointed the gun at ya' on locking tunes...everyone seems to be doing that now...$125 doesn't quite warrant HPTuner purchase now unless you want to be your own guru or offer to do multiple cars which can still become obsene $$$. Thanks again Texas Speed for bringing down that price for members!

well i got my pcm in and got on the dyno friday. all motor the tune was ok, im going to get the place i went to to tune it this week and we all think we can possibly get another 15 out of it. the idle sucks, always wants to die and when i sprayed, the pcm was supposed to be tuned for, it ran extremely rich and smoke galore.

Is this still the "new normal price" even though the website is still claiming $225?

TSP is a good company to deal with. I plan on buying more stuff from them in the future..

BUT...I wouldn't do it. I re-tuned an 04 GTO with their mail order tune. Was tuned for a Torquer 2 cam and PRC 5.3's and a FAST. Car ran like crap IMHO. It was "ok" crusing.. But the idle sucked ***** and so did the LTFT's. Stalled all the time. Would be ok to break-in a motor.. but thats about it. For $125 you are getting a mail order tune from someone else's car. Every car is slightly different. You aren't getting the same thing you would get from a $450 custom tune for your own car.

I'm not even getting into HP differences.. but drivability is what I'm referring to.

Spraying has nothing to do with your tune other than maybe lowering timing a little. Try a smaller jet in your fuel side.

If it's a dry shot try moving/rotating the nozzle.
