yes the GTP is a FWD car and the engine is transversely mounted. However, all you have to do is mount it longitudinally in the camaro and use a regular trans.....and bada bing

I do not see why you could not put the GTP engine in the camaro. The engine in the 3.8l camaro is the same engine, less the supercharger. Best was to find out is to pull the engine out of the camaro and the engine out of the GTP and set them side by side to see if the trans bolt wholes are the same on the back of the block.
It would be sweet if it works. I have a GTP and with the right set up, those engines can be quick.

you need to have a RWD block. other than that everything is pretty much the same. just have to make a intake elbow to go from the back of the charger to the side for a throttle body

like swaping an intake. pretty easy. you just have to resolve the throttle body issues

They indeed do. The SC 3.8l is quite different internally than a NA 3.8L. I do not remember all of the differences (been a few years since I sold my '98 GTP), but the SC engine is more than just the SCer.

As for the bellhousing bolt pattern, most GM fwd applications use the same pattern. The fwd 3.8 shares this common pattern. I know it will bolt up to a 2.8l 5 speed from an S10 for example. If the F-body application doesn't use the same pattern, I would be surprised...
