Where to put Gauages?

Where to put Gauages?
I need to get a tranny temp gauage for sure, and i can't make up my mind. I have 3 gauage pillar pod but i really don't want to put it in the car. I was thinking of putting the gauge in the dash vent because i have a trans am. If i use the pod i have to buy two other gauges, and i don't know what gauges i would get. The hard part is deciding on what style of gauage i want. I want it to match with the red lights, and i want it to match the black interior.

IMO here's your best two options if you're only installing one gauge:
1) Get a SINGLE pod for the a-pillar:
2) Put one gauge in the center console area (just cut a 2 1/16" hole in your TCS plate or get a TCS plate from a Trans-Am or convertible switch plate from a Camaro):
In my car I obviously did both and I used the Cobalt gauges (I then converted my stock lighting to match the Blue LED's) so I ended up with a Black/Blue/Chrome theme to my interior:
(My back seats are now matching black leather and I'm re-covering the doorpanels in black leather this weekend...)
I think the Cobalts blue LED would make a nice contrast to the red lighting in your car but here's a couple of other options:
1) Get a black faced normal gauge and add a red bulb (or red bulb cover which the gauges come with) to get red lighting... I would most recommend this gauge (It's black, has chrome and is FULL SWEEP which most tranny gauges are NOT):
Guage Style: Auto Meter Traditional Chrome
Gauge Type: Transmission temperature
or if you don't like the chrome...
Gauge Style: Auto Meter Sport-Comp
Gauge Type: Transmission temperature
or if you want ALL black...
Gauge Style: Auto Meter Z
Gauge Type: Transmission temperature
Here's and idea of how they would look lit:
2) Finally, and this is what I would do if I had a Trans-Am, you could buy one of Auto-Meter's II Series gauges, they light the NUMBERS up (like the factory style does but with LED's) instead of just a crappy back light and then try to make it red (take it apart, and add a red film or change the leds to red):
Gauge Style: Auto Meter Sport-Comp II
Gauge Type: Transmission temperature
Here's a pic of how it lights up:
Hopefully this helps...

So Demonbird, how do you turn on your head-lights?
And to the OP, if you have a ton of money to spend, you could get a dual pod and throw 2 Aeroforce Interceptors in there, that'll cover your tranny temp, and 3 other things and you'll only have 2 guages. Or you could just do as Demonbird said and get a single pod or put it down in the TCS plate.

Vents FTW, just got done with my install and love it. However, the size for guages that fit in vents is the 2 5/8, you can fit the 2 1/16 like above but you'll have to match something to hold them in there. here are some pics of mine, Boost, Fuel press, Trans Temp.. Autometer Phantom, 2 5/8"
