Default And so it begins...............

After toiling with the idea for a couple of years now I have conceeded and indeed began the conversion process. I purchased a GT47-88 turbo and air/air intercooler from a fellow GN nut. He was able to make 958 HP at the wheels with it on a conventional SBC through a TH-400. I will be using the stock LS1 block, dished pistons, forged rods and 6.0 heads. I already have a set of truck manifolds to use and said I wasn't going to do this but as usual I have geeked out and relapsed after checking out of the Henry Ford center for horsepower junkies. Oh well, I expect to begin tearing into the car come summer and will make sure to document the build for future converts. I look forward to sharing information and picking ya'll's brain. Until then..............

Thanks gentleman, I was wondering what all the stock cube/GT47-88mm folks were using for camshafts. I was thinking of using a 220/220@.050 camshaft. Any thoughts?

IIRC, Pro Stock John has a bigger cam than that in his 348 cid GT47 setup

Couldn't tell ya but here is a link to his user name on TB.com. You will also see the ebay links with some pics of the setup on his GN. Maybe you could register there and ask him. I don't think that it would be an issue to make that kind of power with the right motor pushing it. Cliff's motor is pretty stout from what I gather. As a matter of fact he and ProStock John are freinds so you may even be able to ask PSJ about Cliff's setup in his GN or for more info should you need it.
