Default Turbo guys, what plugs and gaps are you running?

Im just swapping out my plugs cause 1 of them has already been thoroughly melted, lol.

When I pulled the ones that were already in there, Im not 100% sure what kind they were, but they were gapped to .33

I am switching them out to tr6's gapped at .33

Is this ok? Or should I be doing different plugs/gaps?

TIA.

So should I use a smaller gap on my plugs then? Will that .03 be enough to blow out the spark?

Ive already put in the drivers side and didnt wanna go back in and fool around with it unless you guys definately recommend it...

I have burned a few plugs running 15psi boost on a 3800, so I have some expierience here. Unless youre ignition was breaking up due to blown out spark then youre gap is fine, in fact I would try to gap them maybe a little larger. You need a lower heat range like a TR6 or even a TR7. I run TR7s in my GTP at 9:1 compression and a heavy 15 pounds of un-intercooled boost! with little to no KR. If thats not youre problem then maybe youre runnin too lean. Check youre tune. A wideband o2 is a great investment here

Ive already got a FJO wideband, however I need a new sensor for it as its giving me an ER1 error, lol.

Im runnin anywhere from 13.5-15 lbs of boost depending on weather.

Setup is 8.5 CR, fully intercooled, and Im sure its running rich (at least thats definately how it smells a bit...)

****, lol. Ok I guess I'll pull the tr6's and get some 8's...

Would you recommend I set it at the .03 or .035?

A lot has been covered here already. But, never run platinums on a turbo car. The tips stay hot and could cause detonation.

So would Ac-delco iridium spark plugs be bad for a turbo setup then? being that iridium and platinum of course are 2 different metals. .

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...4&page=1&pp=20

Still doesn't say whether or not iridium is out of the picture...

What do TR7s come gapped at? I assume they are 1 step colder than a TR6.

Ok, next question. Where can I pick up tr8's?

I called napa and apparently the only place that has them is the napa in seattle, lol.

I check some sponsors but didnt see any...

Anyone have a link?

Advance Auto.

"TR7" heatrange (since TR7 doesn't exist) is BP7EFS stk#3526

"TR8" heatrange ("""""""""") is R5724-8 stk#7317
