Lightbulb Canon SLR Camera - For Sale

I'm considering upgrading my current Canon SLR camera to a more expensive Canon, now that I am a "pro" doing shoots for GM High Tech. This is the camera that I have been using for the past year, it has worked great (good enough for magazine features).

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (8.0 megapixel) SLR
-comes with factory 18-55 Canon lens (never used)
-includes Canon rechargable battery and charger
-Canon neck strap

Extras Included:
-includes 2 more rechargable batteries (3 total) $40 each
-includes 1 more charger (comes with car lighter plug) $20
-includes Canon battery grip attachment (holds two batteries) - $65
-will include a 512 mB memory CF card $25

Basically everything you need to start using the camera.

$600 cash for everything. This camera sells for $699 at Best Buy, without the accessories. The camera works great, never been dropped or abused. Take professional quality photos this week! I still have the original box and everything.

Specs: Digital Rebel XT

Here are some shots I took with this camera:

Extremely interested. I'm currently at school in Nacogdoches but live in Houston. What do you think the chances are if I could come by and check it out within the month?

I made a thread in acquiring some assistance in this field and obviously don't know more than the average Joe so I wouldn't mind coming by and possibly get some information.

P.S. I have that GM high tech issue w/ the red camaro and I never knew you took those pics. Pretty cool and nice work

Not sure I'd have it in a month, but if I do no problem. I'll gladly teach people how to use the camera if they are local and want to buy it.

Which "more expensive" Canon are you considering?

Still doing research on that. I don't need overkill like the 5D, but I am comparing the options at the moment.

I see, so you're looking at the 400D(XTi) and the 30D. I use the 30D as my spare. It's a good camera, but it's not worth it if you're coming from an XT, imo.

Really, you only need about 6 megapixels to shoot for magazines. That XTi has a couple nice features, like the slightly quicker autofocus and dust removal programming, along with a slightly bigger replay screen. The 30D is questionable as far as price vs value now. Hard to beat the XT like mine for the price, I paid $999 about a year ago. $699 is a damn good bargain for a brand new one today.

Yeah, the XTi has a bigger LCD and 1/8000 shutter speed, but is it worth the upgrade?

The larger display is nice and looks brighter. "Worth it" is a relative term. Since I get paid now to shoot photos, anything I buy typically will pay for itself in no time. Like I said, I'm still shopping/comparing.

I've got an XTi and it's a sweet camera. Takes beautiful pictures and has a super fast AF. You're right though, 6 MP is usually plenty. Only when doing posters and large photos do the 10+ mp cameras make sense. With a 2G memory card, I can still take 300-400 10mp pics though, LOL!
