Default G Force Sport

Hi

Re 98 Z28 with factory 16" 5 spoke wheels. I can get a set of BF Goodrich G-Force Sport 255/50zr16. The factory tires are Goodyear Eagle GA - 235s. Will the 255s fit? If there enough offset on the wheelS to use a wider tire?

Thanks JA

You don't have to worry about offset of the stock wheels...lots of room there. In theory they should fit just fine. I was in the same boat. I had the same stock tires on my Z28, and I replaced them with Falken ZIEX ZE502s in 255/50/16. They fit fine, but the tire seemed to be a bit too big for the wheel which resulted in the center bulging out so that the car was riding on just the center 1/3 of the tire tread. As a result, I had less traction, and the tire wore quickly in the center.

But they did fit fine

Send those suckers back, too wide and WAY too tall . . . . over 29" . . .

255/50ZR16 is the biggest for OEM Z28 wheels.

Hi

Thanks. I do not know how wide the stock wheels are but I will measure them. Thanks for the info.

Hi
That would be great. How did you like them? I assume they are a good upgrade over the stock tire?

Thanks JA

It was a good all around tire and better than stock but there are better tires for traction in the rain, like the GS-D3 just not in that price range. Mine were still good after 40000 miles and I drove it like I stole it everyday. Hell they lasted through 3 10 bolt rear ends...

There's some older pics when the tires were basically new...
