C6-R engine lubrication
#2
if it anything like the oils and fuels used in other top flight motorsports i think it will be a complex mix of oils to give them the best for the conditions they run in!
for example, in F1 they have to run fuel that you can get at the pumps! soooo they take normal fuel and blend it! this complies with the ruels but gives them massive poweR!
thanks Chris.

Ok, I know I said before that I don't like to get into specifics on the race team, but I've been authorized by GM to say that the C6.R uses off-the-shelf Mobil 1 15W50.

Sorry Jason I didn't mean to put you on the spot.. .. I could see 15-50 in a dry sump application and with their oil coolers doing the job..they don't rev those motors to more than 6200-6300 rpms..torque monsters are what they are..

I run M1 15-W50 in my LS6 with a accu sump. 6750 red line. Change oil every two track weekends or about 500 miles.
Send it to two labs for testing. Labs say change is about right.

Trans cooler left, A/C condesor, Oil cooler right
You can see the oil lines in the center right of the pic. Braded lines with the red high temp insulation on part of the lines.
Front spoiler is removed.
