Installed LS6 intake last night
It was really easy, took maybe an hour and a half while goofing around. I had alot of oil in my factory intake and in the intake ports of the heads, is that normal? Looked like the valley cover was leaking a little at the rear but I didn't take it off to look. I cleaned up the heads and the valley cover thing, swapped my injectors and fuel rail over and put the LS6 back on the motor. The transmission dipstick is a bastard to work around, damn you M6 guys! It was an easy install, I didn't break the oil pressure sending unit nor did I even touch it once. It's pretty big and sits behind the intake so as long as you don't go pushing the intake back you won't even hit it. I'm very glad I did this mod on my car, damn it made a difference up top! I drove the car to work this morning and decided to see how it ran, well from a 30 mph roll I floored it and the transmission kicked back to 1st, went sideways and spun hard all the way through second until I let out. Keep in mind I have 315 BFG G-force drag radials on the rear! It was 28 degrees out though so the road was cold but holy **** it didn't drop off on power at all! I'm very happy, especially with the cam. My car is finally the way I want it, modding on the motor is done for now! Just thought I'd share..

That's where I feel the difference, from 3500 on up to 6000 RPMs. My exhaust note is different too, sounds more powerful up in the RPMs. Before it would pull hard to almost 5000 then start to fall off a little, not anymore. Definately was worth the money spent. This car has more power than any other car I've ever owned, damn it's fast!

Yeah, it needs new shocks and springs so I guess that will be next on my never ending mod list. Actually getting that Sunoco hood and having it and my SS spoiler painted need to be next on my **** to do list. Then the T-56 swap for sometime this year.

No, I gained on low end as well. If you port your heads then you'll get more airflow but your velocity will slow down causing you to loose low end. They told you the opposite of the truth! I gained on low end all the way through the RPM range and a shitload up top. I'm still amazed at the difference this intake made. The stock intake doesn't look that much different but the runners are raised and flow more air, definately worth the money.

Congrats! The t-56 will def be the mod to put a smile on your face. Also some Koni SA's will def be good also. I couldnt justify spending the 800 on them until i drove in a car with them. They are on my Trans Am now and soon on my SS

The ls6 intake is designed to optimize high RPM power, while NOT sacrificing low end tq. That's the idea of the tuned long runners.
Glad to hear everything went well. What cam do you have in there? Do you plan on dynoing it to see where you are?

Two weeks ago I dynoed my car before the intake, 309 RWHP and 297 Ft. Lbs. with the TC unlocked on a mustang dyno. I'm going back sometime in the next week or two to do a second set of pulls to see how much I gained from this intake.
My cam is a Patriot 226/226 with 585/585 of lift on a 112 LSA, full bolt on and free mod car. 137,000 miles and still runs great.

No stall and stock 3.23 gears. I'm doing a 6 speed conversion this year so I didn't waste my money on this Auto.

currently just have LTs cam tune.
Thanks
My tuner said to bring it by so he can check my fuel trim but he said it most likely wouldn't affect it so I don't know.
