Default Strange Dana S60 oil change

I just purchased a Dana S60 complete rear from Strange.I will be changing the rear gear oil soon.I use the tru trac diff with 373 gears.I was told to use 3 quarts of 80/90 non sythetic oil and one pint of limited slip additive. The shop that installed the rear, told me to do this at 1k.Anyone with this rear do this?I guess Strange told him this was required.I own a 2000' ss. What a difference between this rear and the stock pos. Much more solid feeling, smoother shifts.Haven't had a chance to get on it yet.Still breaking it in.
Thanks

If the shop and the manufacturer tell you to do it, I'd do it.

Strange told me that no additives were needed with the true-trac ... just run straight gear oil 80/90 or 80/130.

I just put mine in and Strange told me about the same thing that you were told. 80/90 non synthetic for the break in period! After the break in they told me not to put synthetic back in when I change it. I have a 2000 SS also.

I was told not to use an additive with my true trac. I used 2 3/4 quarts of 80/90 in mine. I have a little gear wine, but its less then i had stock. Other than that i love it.

I just got my S60 in and the sticker on it said to use the 80w90 gear oil and the friction modifier/additive, and my dealer told me to break it in for 500 miles gently then change fluid. I have the super strength posi in mine.
