Stupid question: you're not just trying to change your wiper blades, right? Why do you need to take the whole wiper arm off? If you do, it looks like you need a special tool to get it off. Here's a link to instructions on how to take it off on my car, not sure if a '99 is any different.

no, im trying to take them off to reset the park position, it snowed here awhile back and messed them up. now when i turn them off they park in the middle of the windshield instead of at the bottom.

If I remember correctly, you should be using a small puller.
Ya might hafta research it, but I'm pretty sure there's some notes around here or the web about using a small puller to get them off.

I have heard that they are sometimes extremely hard to pull off.... to the point that you feel like you are going to break them..

Good luck!

You can get them off with a battery terminal puller like is used with a top post battery. They're like $5 at Autozone.

This..

I put some lubricant on them and let it sit for around 10 minutes.. You can't really pull straight up, got to kind of wiggle them back and forth (same motion as when in use) and then pull up. They are REALLY stuck on there. DO NOT pry with anything, VERY simple to break windshield (did this on a car in the past).
