Any input on the DD issues? We've noticed that, if nothing else, they seem pretty unreliable.
out of 3 cars run on the same DD and then the sameDJ248, 1 was dead on, 1 was low on the torque measurement ( dont know how it could be off on torque, and not on HP) on the DD, and 1 was hi on the DD.
Sorry for the hijack. Just thought it would pertain.

Its a tuning device first and foremost. But to produce results over 100 or so HP off on 3 seperate cars and they all lost power on a dynojet seems fishy/unreliable/etc. I did notice that on the other graphs ive looked at on a DD unit they all have had a correction factor of some kind on the bottom of the graph. This one doesnt and the dynojets do. Something seems awry there as well.

I do know that the dyno jet numbers were backed up on 3 different dyno jet units. All within 25 miles of each other so that says something. Of course there was about 10-15 hp variance in those but we've all come to accept that around here.

I know its a tuning device. What I was refering to, as far as what you had learned, was whether or not you can manually enter a correction factor.
And as far as the DJs being off 10-15 each, on a 500 hp motor( or close to it) that s only 2-3%. Thats pretty repeatable in my book.

Congratulations on witnessing the fiasco. Now please let your friend now that the truth, whatever it may be, needs to be told for the other consumers and patrons looking at L92 stuff can be informed. And informed honestly and proper. Theres no need to with hold good information. Either the car made 550 or it made what we all are beginning to suspect 470-480's like what it reality should.

all i am saying is that i was at xtreme when it was on the dyno and i saw everything that was going on. they put it on there and ran it like i have seen other cars run before. nothing special done to it. that is what there machine said. i dont want to agrue about this and turn it into a pissing contest, there is no need for that. he told me what it put down on the other dynojets also. maybe there is something wrong with xtreme's dyno, maybe there isnt. the machine read what was said. and that is all i going to say.

Besides the point of all the arguement of all the dynos and shops...I've noticed that everyone thinks the l92 and l76 can make this big hp number. Seriously, it's a factory head. I know some people are going to mention the flow, but after market is simply specialized in what they are built for. They are putting them on high output trucks and caddies. Should this evidence be enough from GM? Maybe I am being bias against them, either way I'm leary of this setup on a 408. So I'm going with a CNC's head and an intake made for what I am building.

Basically an arguement over dyno numbers from a shop. They haven't found out why the particular shops dyno is giving a significant amount of horsepower over other dynos. Also, what the l92, l76 combo can render in horsepower on a an individuals 403.

Well i've gotten work Louis that its been dynoed on 4 units thus far.

RPM did the original exposing dyno. That really woke the world up with shocking new. Then it was dyno'ed on Alamo's, and then USA Motorsports. This is hear say as I haven't contacted the shop owners for verification at this time. I wouldnt doubt it not true either.
