No. You might be able to find a good used detector for around $100, such as a Whistler Pro 58 or Pro 73.
You can find used Escort 8500's on Craigslist for <$200. That's a really good detector.

I suggest a Bel pro rx65, had it for 3 months until it was stolen. Excellent detection and easy to use. Looks cool, and will only cost 250. Same thing as an Escort passport 8500 x50 but 50 bucks cheaper so dont waste your money on the escort. Beltronics=Escort
BTW, dont leave your detector proudly displayed on the windshield when parked(or even the suction cups ), asswipes like to bash in windows and take them. I hate thiefs

i picked up a Whistler xtr-650 for $121 shipped.
from all the reviews i read on the cheaper models the whistler pro 73 and the newer xtr where the ones to get.
i picked up a cop today on the KA band, it just paid for itself with that detection.

from all the reviews/ratings, i'd either go with a V1 or a x50, ive got an x50 and it works great. got it for 200$ used and its paid for itself tons of times over.
not really worth the 100$ to get one less, will end up costing you in the long run eventually.

agree .. have one of each .. like them both, and they seem to work about the same .. best two detectors I have ever used.

well like every other radar detector thread everyone keeps bringing up the big 3. when all the person wants is a inexpensive detector that will do the job just fine for 5-15mph over. Not looking to detect a cop 4 miles away so we can slow down from 150mph.
yeah, the top of the line ones are brought up for good reason. but the question was, " Anyone know a good radar detector that picks up laser and radar? Would like to stay around $100."
Here is a good comparison on how various detectors stack up.
