Default 2 Step

I was wondering how many M6 guys are using an 2step? I am having problem building boost on take off but think that a 2step may be hard on the motor. What do you guys think?

Won't be too hard on the motor, but the trans and clutch will be pissed...lol....

Great way to help the launch on a manual or auto boosted car.

a 2step would work fine on a Manual. all you are doing is putting an limiter (set lower than the stock limiter) on the enigne!

is you want to a REAL launch system (no offence to any of the 2 steo setups out there) you want to incoriate into a anti lag system. then you knock the timing back to the point its still burning as its leaving the cyclinder. this menas the turbo gets it by REALLY hot and still exspanding gasses that spool it quick!

WRC's (world rally cars) can make as much as 15psi sat on the line.....out of gear!!!!! now imagine that with a LS1

thanks Chris.

the harlan 2 step is more like a secondary rev limiter, where the 2 steps in the accel/bs3 boxes do the backfire thing

here is what a heavy street car with a 2 step can do to a t56 when it hooks

You wont hurt the motor... If you break the trans thats a good excuse for a glide or th400.

i broke my spare trans' output shaft exactly 7 days after that video, exept when that one broke it took out the ring gear and slip yoke along with it.

i suspect the viper shafts i replaced the stock ones with would hold up much better, or of course the g force parts.

hey i happen to have a trans with the viper shaft conversion for sale

OH! MOMMA!

WOW! That’s ONE BROKEN SHAFT!

I'm running the Viper Output in my T56, but anything can always happen!

I WANT TO TRY!!!!

Did you make the setup for the 2 step or did you buy it???

I use a setup like this on my bike but they call it a stutter box. (dip switches to set RPM) I have a limit switch in my clutch handel that runs to the box the that feed my coils. hit a switch... pull the clutch in... Twist W.O.T. and she just burps at 4200 rpm till you dump the clutch. After the clutch come out you have to start all over to get it to stutter.

Would love something like that for the TA!

A 2 step is a set limited that you choose to go with. Like on my car I have it set at 4500 r.p.m. but, im not building any boost. Im going to the track this weekend to see what it needs to be set at to build boost. Im thinking probably about 5000-5300 r.p.m. But, I don't know. I was told for a stick shift car a 2 step is great for building boost. Now I have no idea haven't tried it yet but thats what I have been told.

Question. If I have a wide band installed (Dynojet Commander) when I engauge the 2step and press the gas to build boost will it make the wideband go crazy? I assume it will but I want to be sure.
