Default formal introduction

What's up everyone. I have been researching a lot on this site, but never formally introduced myself. Im an Orlando resident with a '01 Z28. Mods are the following: SLP cold air/lid, ASP underdrive, Jet-hot long tubes and y-pipe (no cats) with corsa cat-back, LS1 Edit, McCleod clutch and alum. flywheel, Random Tech Torque arm and control arms, QA1s on all for corners, and Moser 12-bolt w/4:10s.

Here is the kicker..I ran a 12.7 on lid, SLP loudmouth exhaust and y-pipe, and hypertech on ET streets. So I added all the mods above(mucho denero) and the bastard got slower. Best run with above mods is 12.9 at 112. Recently purchased welds and some slicks, so I hope to get to mid 12's current set-up. Im thinking I got a bad tune. I'm in the process of looking things over and getting the tune checked. Anyway, love the site. Can't get enough of the infinite amount of info on this site.

look up jeremy formatto- one of the best tuners, and lives in Tampa. What was the weather like between the 2 runs. Welcome to the site.

Well, I ran the 12.7 on the old mods about 3 years ago in Bradenton...mid-day weather around 80.

I will say my main problem is hooking up. The 315 nitto's arent doing the job anymore since the long-tubes and Edit. It got even worse with the inception of th 4:10s...that I can understand. But even coming out the box at idle it ran slow. Now recently I took it to Orlando Speedworld on a nice 53 degree night and it ran the 12.93 at 112 spinning and feathering (2.2 60') out of the hole, so I was actually pleased that I got that. I only made the one pass because about 4 cars broke that night, so I am sure I could have got a better pass. The one pass I did beat a guy on a new GT500, so that made me feel a little better.

The tune was actually done by a guy in Ft Myers. I can't remember the guy's name. A friend of mine Marcus Valone (maybe you have heard of him)and his dad sent me to him. It dyno'd 321 at the rear with just the slp lid, long tubes and SLP loudmouth when he tuned it.

That number seems a little low to me. I figured with the full exhaust you' d get a little more than that.

That was probably Justin at J&J performance. It may have been a different name at that time. If you need to get in touch with formatto hit me up I have his cell #. you get that 2.2 60 ft. down and you will see the times come down. Also what ar you shifting at?

It may have been more, it was 3 years ago so I need to dig up my dyno sheet.

I have yet to install my shift light (another thing I need to do), but I shift at about 6200 per the stock tachometer, which I hear isn't that accurate. Speaking of which, what pill should I use for my shift light? I was thinking of the 6200 pill. I was going to play around with the shift points when I got my pills in.

I would look at the dyno sheet and see when the optimal time to shift is and set it a couple hundred before that.
