Default Keep my 347 or get a ls2 402?

I cant decide. Since Im getting rid of my T trim setup and getting the APS twin kit Im thinking a bigger motor. What do you guys think? Its fun having the 347 but I think the bigger cubes will tame my addiction for now What do you guys think? Stick with what I have or go bigger? Dammit it never ends!

Thanks

Joe M

If you can afford to go bigger, Why not? More cubes, mean more power, easier. I would do it if the cash was available.

no way, a nice ported set of lq9's will net you what your looking for. You can go AFR's, but, thats you choice. Either way, your gonna make the power.

OR, you could be one of the first nuts around here to tryout the l92 heads and induction package. Will cost ya less than a set of AFR's. Intake comes with rails and injectors which im sure you will upgrade. But that would be with the 402ci, not the 347ci.

i like bigger cubes, less boost so you have my choice!! good luck!!

IMO it depends on what size turbos you can use with the APS kit. That would tell me what I was going to do. When I was going to use the INCON kit I was regretting going with the 402 cause it was better suited for a 346-370 CI motor. That is one of the major reasons I went with Jim's kit.

Well once I get more info on the biggest turbo they offer with the kit we can ramrod it. If not a 383 might be fun?

Just make sure the APS kit will support what you want on the bigger motor. The bigger the motor, the bigger turbos needed.

I say keep it aluminum and do a custom setup for it like Ray did on that customers 372. Im actually looking into a 347 setup with an iron block. Custom stroke huge bore like the Mustang guys. Be a high winding bitch and could compete in weight break type classes for smaller motors.

I think the LS2 holds the heads down better because of the shorter studs.

Just changed to a Ls2/402, and I've got to say that I like every bit of the changes, also the driveability down low is awesome!

Im waiting for APS to reply. If they offer a bigger turbo Ill do it. If not after talking to Jeff (Inspector12) I might just foot the coin on a Speed Inc kit. But its ALOT more $ and it would hold back the build a month or two Im weird like that havent had this setup 3 months all properly working and Im allready bored. Im nuts!

I agree with Carl.......
If the turbo's cant go any bigger it will of been a wast because the turbo's will be out of breath and they will be holding u back.........
I plan to go those kind of cubes in the future..... but i plan on doing thith a 95-101mm turbo.................
