Default Preparation for a road trip

Im driving down to Florida from New York mid may and wondering if there are certain things I should do to prep my car for the long journey. Shes a 99 and has 89k miles.

Just dont want it to die half way/when I get there =\

Doing general maitence couldnt hurt, fluid and filter changes, if the plugs and wires havent been done Id do them, check brake pad thickness, from there also check the air filter. Be prepared to do another oil change again after you get back.

might want to invest in a bra to avoid front end damage, especially with a black car. I'll be driving my car from NJ to NC so i went ahead and purchased a bra to be safe from rock chips ect.

I wish they had more options with that 3M clear stuff, something that made it more disposable and didnt made it bond to the surface like two peices of metal that rusted together after 46 years.

Not everyone wants the bra, it causes damage on it's own. If 3M made it the right way, it could be used for people going on a long trip (moving), cross-country trips, driving to a car show in high end cars and other times when you want the product, just not forever.

ehh im pushing it on funds to go in the first place, not sure if id be able to get one.
