Default moser 9" uses 4 bolts for torque arm?

got a moser 9" housing, can I use 4 grade 8 bolts and lock washers etc for the torque arm or do I have to stay with the factory 2 bolt setup? Only asking because the old bolts are rusty and nasty looking and I'd have to order the long ones and wait a week or so.

I believe on mine it was just the 2 bolts. I reused the stock bolts. I've had no issues with them backing off or anything either. I think some of the 4 bolt setups had some of those issues.

well I suppose I could try it out and check to see if they back out at all every now and then. Don't see how 4 lock washers would back out any quicker than 2.

I'd stay with the two long bolts, and replace yours when the new ones arrive, as has been suggested. Bob

Only place online I've found new bolts is UMI and they state:

Note: This kit will not work with Moser Engineering rear-ends, you must reuse hardware supplied by Moser Engineering.

Is there any other shop that sells them? Or is this disclaimer just for the 12 bolt housing and not the 9"

I would think that would just be the 12 bolt. My 12 bolt uses 4 i believe 5/8" grade 8 bolts, but i thought the 9" uses the 2 bolt setup. I could be wrong. I wish mine had the 2 bolt setup. It seems like i alway have to tighten the torque arm down with lockwashers and red loctite.

That is just for the 12-Bolt Moser housing, sorry. The 9" uses the longer stock style bolts.
