Default Rear Caliper Bracket Shims

Just a question for those who have installed a 12 bolt. I bought a used 12 bolt and had it redone. It has LS1 brakes on it which is an upgrade for me since mine is a 94 car. Anyway I installed the rotors on it and installed the caliper mounting brackets and found the right bracket contacts the inside face of the rotor. If I install a 1/8" washer between the caliper bracket and the bracket that is mounted to the rearend assy I then have the same distance as what is on the left side.

Is this normal to have to shim the brackets ? I tried to check things side to side but everything looks fine. Any ideas?

I don't know if it's normal or not, but someone had to add the brackets for them to bolt on and they might have welded them on a little off. So assuming your PAB isn't bent, then you should be fine using the shim.
