Default Will the MS3 fit........

will the MS3 fit with my aftermarket cylinder heads? I bought some LS1 cylinder heads from SLP back in 03' and they have 63.5 cc combustion chambers w/ 2.02 intake and 1.575 exhaust valves.

The cam I have to go with it is 228/228 w/ .571 lift on both intake and exhaust side.

What is the biggest cam I can go with? I want to put a much bigger/better cam under these heads. I made just over 400rwhp and 375rwtq with these hads and that cam. I'm hoping a new cam could get me closer to 420.........and then a 90/90 could put me in the 440 to 450rwhp range.

What do you guys think?

you have to check how much they were milled. I beleive if they were probably milled .30 which would not matter, anyways the ms3 is an awesome cam if you can get the ms4 go with it but you are going to need a new spring kit

Well you said "LS1 heads from SLP". If so then they are milled. LS1 is 66.67 cc chamber. So they were milled 3.17cc. Every 1cc is ~.005, .005 X 3.17 =.0159 mill
That and 2.02 valves will not clear the MS3, that I know from experience.

That's also assuming the chambers were not touched. If they had material removed from them, and were milled to make up for it then clearance would be that much tighter.

Time to notch those pistons.

I appreciate your input.........Its greatly appreciated!

Can you recommend a good cam to go with my heads?

I ask because its alot cheaper to replace the cam as opposed to the heads. Hell, if GMPP can build us some smaller bore L92 heads, I'd go with them. They should be pretty inexpensive!
