I'm sceptical of powercoating any cast aluminum wheel, just me. powdercoating is usually cured at 350°+, so I'm leery of what that does to a casting. I'd say paint...

Black spray paint in the house! This is by no means a long term thing for me. I'll be repainting them base-clear this summer. But temporarily it works fine. I can't reiterate enough the importance of prep.

I've seen a few fully black oem style 10 spokes and I like them. I recommend powdercoat because it should be a lot more durable to rock chips/nicks.

i dont like it, i love the chrome ones. and for the spray paint....what do you use because even the spray paint meant for that kind of stuff tends to fade/chip

Those actually look real good for a backyard job!
I'd do black caps too though.

i painted the wheels on my truck like 9 months ago and had to redo it about a month later, that high heat **** wore off, and so did that fusion ****, so i went to wal mart and grabbed a couple 96 cent cans of gloss black and havent touched them since that **** had the best shine too...lol but i would never do this to the pro stars...

If you're painting wheels, the best thing to do is to bake dry the paint for durability. Otherwise you will stand the risk of the paint experiencing excessive chipping and/ or pre-mature drying (loss of gloss).

I say go for it, but if it were me I'd paint the entire rim black. 10 spokes are a hard character to get right. You either love them or hate them. The best looking examples I've seen were the originals, 35th anniversary's, and all-black powder-clear painted examples. If you insist on polishing the rim lip, then polish the outer edge (above the weight ledge), and paint the rest black (there was one wheel done like that which looked very good).
