the combo seems very similar to what i had in my car mine was as follows
81 rx bare bones
355
10-1 hypers
comp xe 274 cam
performer rpm
770 vac secondary carb
all msd ignition
shorty headers
single 3"
2800 stall
th350
ran 12.5@115 mph N/A on bald *** 235/60/15 street tires with the stock diff etc as for the 8.8 lots of guys cut the brackets of a stock diff and weld them on and go that route and just my 2 cents lower the A1000 pump to below the sump of the cell otherwise it will overheat in any kind of street conditions etc

i used mustang ten hole rims and bfg 235/60/15 for street along with drag lites and 26x9x15 slicks for a 4 lug mustang on mine i also converted the rear to take normal studs instead of the gay *** lug bolt things .......but i would strongly recomend a 8.8

i think im gonna go pull another rx7 rear and a 8.8 outta a ranger or mustang and just make my own, i know that grannys sells a torque arm conversion but i think my car hooks well for having the watts link, my front suspension is adjustable with 7" long 350 "/lbs springs, I also have both sway bars on, which im gonna pull off today so that should help.

just pull the front bar not the rear and your right about leaving the suspension set up like factory just beef up the 4 link arms as they like to bend i cut a 1.65 60 foot on bald *** bfg street tires in mine with no suspension work at all and all motor
