oke thanks, so the biggest diameter is the one to go for
eventhough in theory a 6:1 ratio on a small carrier could mean a bigger RING DIAMETER then a bigger carrier with a 2:1 ratio ?

There is no real difference between the 7.5/7.6. The ring gear design was never actually changed, just the pinions looked slightly different and the carriers were slightly different. Getting a 7.6 ring gear in place of an old 7.5 will be no gain, and all the aftermarket stuff is the same.

I know I'm dredging up an old post, but could this be added to the FAQ thread on this forum? I was wondering about how they measured these to, and had to search for it, when I think it is a FAQ for some newbs like me.
