It's not the cam, Z284thgen on here used the GM847 in his Eagle 383 with no issues. Crane grinds the GM847 for GM preformance parts so swaping cams wont fix your rods hitting

I just assembled and installed my 383 stroker in my '96 last month. During assembly, I found that, though the block had been clearanced, the Canton oil pan was being lightly struck by the cylinder 7/8 counterweights. The oil pan turns in a bit on one side (drivers side?) and it had 'just enough' interference to stop the crank. Peeled the pan off, dinged that spot with a ball peen hammer, trial fitted it and bolted it together once it cleared.

As i stated, way to test but it looks to be in the fitment of the Rotating assembly

its in the rods them selves, thats one of the reasons I got manley rods for in mine I know that they fit in every other stroker we built before, we have to grind a little off eagles and scats all the time to make them clear.

now if you ground the corners off make sure that the balance on the crank is good, taking weight off the rods will throw the balance off, thats why you pre fit everything on a motor then pull everything back down and balance everything.

my crank was a pain to balance, I bought a lightend crank made for a 383, it the counter weights should have cleared the block, every time I put it back in the block it was hitting, I had to take so much stuff off there it was nuts, I had to put slugs back in the crank to balance it, eagle to me is a waste and I will never buy from them again, they gave me no support on it wouldnt admit to a problem nothing, but the next eagle crank we ordered for a customer had an tag on there stating to check clearance before balancing and the spots it hit on mine were clearanced, the balance was still way off.

I just finished my build also. I have a Eagle 383 (6" Rod) with the GM847 and the rods just barely hit the cam. I had to grind the corners of the rods about .10 to get it to clear.
