Default Check this out...........

Anyone ever had this happen or know where I can find good replacement parts? If you cant tell, the line running from the top of my pass side manifold(circled) is cracked and as a result, my fill neck has three holes burnt in it, causing my car to leak a good bit of oil all over the place. The line that runs into the side of the throttle body is cracked and has oil all over it as well and I drew an arrow to it.

Did you know that the threads of the cap and the base of the neck are the same? If you wanted to, you could just remove the neck and put the cap directly into the valve cover.

I'm a little lost here...are you saying oil spraying out of the line from the valve cover to the throttle body caused all that damage? That is just a breather line. Some oil does get into it but it shouldn't be spraying **** everywhere. You should probably do the breather mod that someone came up with. Where that line leaves the valve cover there is a little plastic elbow stuck into a rubber grommmet that the hose connects to. Replace that elbow with a breather filter. Autozone carries a Duetsch BF412 that will fit right into that grommet and connect to the hose. It helps keep oil out of the hose. Here's what it looks like:

The hose in that last pic (circled in purple) is for the bank 2 air injection system. If enough air is leaking out of that crack it will set code P1416. So if your ses light comes on and you get that code you know why.

The little hose is cracked in his pic off of the A.I.R. Check Valve on that Manifold. Remove all that crap, it will run much better.

Thanks for all the replies. I never would have thought that the oil cap would screw right into the valve cover. I do have to pass emissions where I live though, and isnt it illegal to remove any emissions equipment?

I know that here we have a visual emissions inspection and everything has to be in place...Technically you can not remove or tamper with any piece of emissions equipment...I run all of my AIR stuff and EGR and I use that Duetsch BF412 on my set up and its made a world of difference...Go to the dealer and buy the stuff thats bad and replace it...Its not too much $$$...I used to run the oil fill cap right into the cover, but my OVC wires got in the way, so I got a new filler neck from the dealer....either way works fine...

I think its way cool to run low 11s, pop the hood and still have a factory looking motor with the emissions stuff...I don't think I'd run faster w/o it hooked up...

Alright. I honestly haven't looked, and mine didn't look to have enough plumbing for AIR.
