will a 98 instrument cluster from T/A work in a 99 T/A?

correct....you can use any 99-02 cluster but not a 98.

well i just bought one off of ebay from a 98 with under 20k miles on it so i guess it wont work so now its for sale when i receive it i payed $80 for it PM me if any one is interested.

"98 is still analog while '99 up is serial data, you'd have to do some major alterations for it to work .

ya but the 98 clusters are bad *** becuase they are actually functional and not fake/dummie gauges...stupid GM.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but I thought Its just the temp gauge thats the dummy gauge I thought

correct, but still I heard the gauges are more accurate(RPMs, oil pressure, etc.)

like stated above the 99-02 get readings by DATA, instead of Analog.
