Need recommendations for new tires with great wet traction
I just moved to Orlando, FL this year, and need to replace my Aurora 275/40R17 K103 98W tires soon on my Trans Am w/ WS6 rims. I'm looking for tires that have superior traction on wet roads, since I spent 60 miles a day commuting on the interstate and it rains quite heavy here in FL during the summer. Any suggestions?

i run 275/40/17 firestone firehawk wide-ovals... and i have yet to have any real problems in the wet weather with it... as long as im not hot-rodden around in the rain they seem to grip pretty well on highways and at high speeds tooo... they are directional so they tread the water welll...

"Wet Traction"
Hi there tcossair, since I bought the BFG KDW NT's or KDW2s as people refer to is the most superior wet traction tire I've ever owned! When I did have them on the rear wheels, I could actually push it a little on rainy days! And stopping is no problem. I've never imagine a tire to be this great in the rain! Here is some pictures of the tires. Later

x3 on the Eagle F1 GS D3's. I have had several sets on different cars and they perform extremely well in rain and dry conditions. I even drove them in light snow once and they did ok. Best tire for all around performance.

Sweet guys, that pretty much confirms which tire I was looking at. Just gotta save the extra cash for them, best price I've seen is $213 each at discount tire. :-p

Hmm my wife is telling me $225-$250 per tire is probably too much. In case I can't convince her, what are good second/third choices for less money than the GS-D3's with decent tread life? (I drive 15-20k a year)

I've replied to like 3 different threads with the same answer...BFG G-Force Sports! Awesome wet and dry traction! Also good treadwear, have had mine for 10k miles with very minimal wear. If you want a better deal call Corey at Discount tire direct and he will hook you up on whatever tire you want. He is the only person I deal with when I bought wheels and tires for my T/A and truck. He is GOOD! PM me and I can get you his extension.
