Default Sumitomo owners?!

I've been looking at getting some 255/50's for the stock rears and can't decide btwn the BFG GF-sports or Sumi HTR-Z's. The BFG's have a much better treadwear rating, 340 vs 160, but the Sumi's have some pretty good reviews and the price is right. What kind of mileage are you guys getting from your Sumi's?

I just put 275s and 315s on. The price is awesome, but they are not exactly a great performance tire. Dont get me wrong, they are a great daily driver and when i these are dead I am going to get another set of summi's, just dont plan on getting awesome 60' times with them.

I kind of like like the lack of traction anyway. Spinning the wheels and leaving 2 fat tire marks down for 20 or 30ft just makes me smile.

I have had 315's and 275's on my car for about a year and I will say they have lasted, but again, you aren't gonna get alot of performance out of them. If you like to run on the streets or you drive the car like somethin out of Smokey and the Bandit then I would get some BFG's. Or better yet, M/T!!!

5000+mi and tons of meat, hook well for first 6month and not as well now even when heated up but they are still great. You can pull 1.9s to 2.1s on them.(60')

if you want good traction, then dont get the sumitumos, had 315s on the rear of my old black zr1's and did the LONGEST burnouts ever from a light. even from a 40mph roll i would break loose and still do rediculously long burnouts. nice for showin off but not nice if your tryin to beat someones *** lol

i'm running 275/40/17 right now and the treadwear is very good on them....BUT they are noisy as hell and the ride is not very comfortable. Rain they seem to do so-so in. I guess it all depends on what your wanting to get out of your new tires.

Decent traction on the street if you're not making gobs of power. Different story on the track. I cut some ok 60' times (2.15-2.3) in about 55 degrees. If you plan on racing a lot on the weekends, I'd pony up for something else.

The main reason I went with the BFGs was because I've heard a lot of people complain of the traction issues with the Sumis. I'm not making tons of power but I went with the 255s because I feel the extra width wouldn't hurt. You can't argue with the price of the Sumis though, especially you guys running 315s.
