Try using 2000 grit right behind the 1500 to take some more of the swirl out and use the meguiars plastx. it worked beautifully for me. I know this may be a dumb? but you are wet sanding right?

I have over 3 hours into my headlights. You are right the stock ones are too expensive so that is why I spent so much time on them.

They have some clearcoat or something on them that causes the hazing. This past friday I started on mine, I wet sanded the lenses then started to hand polish using 3M polishing compound and noticed that I was removing a thin layer of "something" from the lenses. Some of it came off easily and some took more elbow grease. I'm still not done with them because I ran out of daylight and I went out of town this weekend. Whatever it is it'll have to be removed completely so the lenses will polish out clear.

Default Venture Shield

For those who's Headlights are not too far gone, try some Venture Shield. Its Crystal Clear, Easy to Install, and will protect your Lenses from getting pitted and cloudy. Additionally it offers protection against actual breakage too. Want Some???
