Default Shout out to Westerly, RI cops....

Around 2:30 am last night, i was riding back from the beach(misquamicut) my girl wanted to see the ocean after we left the casino and i said wtf i like the drive. Anyway's theres a striaghtaway for miles, 2 lanes separated by a jersy barrier and i let the z rip. "the man" was waiting down the road with all his lights off shooting his radar right at me. I passsed him easily doubling the speed limit, and i just started pulling over as he pulled on the road, i was like, thats it, cars getting towed right? He throws his lights on and does his usual: lis. reg. ins. He comes back to my car with my info and says if he had written me a ticket for the speed i was going the car would be towed, reckless driving, etc... Instead he gave me a ticket,$85.00 for going 55 in a 50. As he walks away he says, "nice car."

To top this off i was out of state, w/slp lm, no front plates.

+1 for american muscle!!!

Damn, that is a lucky break!

Off topic, I notice your from Manchester CT. I used to go to school down there and worked at Mustangs Unlimited.

You know my buddy Jon with a dark red 3rd gen Camaro by chance? 383 stroker on the bottle, car runs in the high 10s. I know a few kids down in that area.

Nice car BTW.

I know, but if that cop is a member on this site, i wouldn't mind buying him a drink sometime. That guy was very cool.

Very cool. And hopefully it taught you a lesson as opposed to "hating the man for towing your car." As long as you weren't being dangerous, he did the right thing...I wish more cops thought like that.

Most of the westery cops had hotrods in there day and some still do.There,s a homemade video from the mid 80,s called the burn tape, with all the local high school students burning tire off there cars,2 or 3 are westerly cops now.I tore up the town with a few of my friends in westerly and we where always let off with a warning,or we weren,t cought .

Lucky

To bad its not like the "old days" I was not around 20 years ago driving, but I hear all the time how cops would sit in there patrol car and watch people drag race. Hell some of them would block the road for them. Haha I wish I was around for that
