Default Lifter tool problem

We are trying to install a cam on my buddys car,and the lifter tool for the passenger side will not slide into hole,we spun the cam it felt like all the lifters were up.the tool still wont go in more then a couple inches.... Thanks in advance

I had the same problem with mine and it ended up being a nightmare. good luck.

Yea,I used the rods to install the cam on my car,with no problems..We grinded down the rod and it went in,now with both rods in,if we spin the cam,you can still feel some movement from the lifters,like the cam lobes are barely hitting it,the rods will not go any further...Will this be a problem if we go ahead and pull the cam?????

i used a little incouragement with a "tapper" and got it in but it was a bitch to get out too. wouldnt recommend forcing it in!

try pullin up the lifters with a pen magnet thru the pushrod holes before slidin the tool in

the pull and pray method has worked for a lot of ppl but i would not recommened it. Ill pull the heads and take out the lifters before I pull and pray
