Default Blacked engine bay

Has anyone painted their inner fenders, firewall, etc. black on a non black car? I have the engine out of my car right now and was curious as to how it would look. My car is silver so if anyone has any pics or photoshops I'd like to see them. Thanks

High gloss black, and paint the bottom of the hood black as well, then use silver or even chrome accents everywhere you can. If I had the engine out, I'd do it in a heartbeat!

Also, while everything is easier to get to, do the wire mod, get all other wires hidden or at least reduced, and use stainless bolts when everything is going back together.

Yea, I did mine in flat black in a dark green car. My block is Chevrolet Orange with Cast Coat Iron accents. The paints are High Temp spray can paints you can buy at Advanced Auto Parts or other similar stores. Very cheap, came out looking very nice. It's dark now, but I'll make sure to snap some pictures tommorrow.

Anyone have pics? I'm not sure if I wanna do high gloss or not, probably more of a satin. I already planned on doing the wire mod, I'm not really going for a show car look, just something different. The car is more of a weekend warrior than anything. Thanks for the opinions, keep them coming.

Bergers are low gloss black under the hood. I wish I would have done mine. Or if the paint is good wet sand and clear it, it'll look good too.
Sept 06 GM High Tech has some pics.

Low gloss = satin, same thing. I really figured people would bash this idea...... **** it, I'll do it. I'll try to get the rest of the wires and brake lines etc. out of the way and I'll post up some progress pics. Hell, if I don't like it I'll just paint it back silver.

When I repaint my car I'm leaving the engine bay black. All the old school muscle cars used to have it like that...so why not carry on the tradition? That's how it is on my dad's 66 chevelle and 74 stingray. Would you say it looks like *** on those cars?

It looks like you painted your car and were too cheap to paint the engine pay.

And dustin, old cars were like that because you could remove the inner fender.

Both are Semi-Gloss Had the engines out they got their engine bays painted as did all of us who had our engines out. Its not rattle can stuff, i personally think it looks great if its done right, i think if your going to have a different color engine bay from the rest of the car it should be black
