To those with Performabuilt Transmissions...
How long have you had it? What type of power are you putting down? Track times? Good or bad. Just curious as I see him plugging his transmissions in almost every thread in the transmission section, but have yet to see anyone in the Drag Racing section talking about them... Let me know, thanks!

i have the level three. i put down 400/380 n/a. i've only had it for a couple months and only been to the track once. the track was shitty and i got some high 1.7 60fts and an et of 7.6x. im hoping for 7.4s and maybe some 7.3s n/a. i have a 150 shot on it and plan on moving up to 200 when i get a better fuel system. i've hit the kit a few times on the street and it seems fine. this tranny may be a lil of an overkill for me but i wanted it to be there.

Performabuilt trans
I just got a level 1 4l60e. I haven't been able to run it yet because of some issues with the trans. It won't shift. I changed the solenoids and it shifted good for a day, but resumed not shifting the next day. Performabuilt is making it good, so I hope to have better luck with another one. When it was shifting correctly, it shifted pretty firm under WOT, which is what I wanted.

Here's an update. I took it to the track last weekend with the new tranny, and the new Edge convertor (custom for use with the turbos), and the car ran 10.89 at 133 mph (11.5 psi boost). I did 10 runs and the tranny worked perfectly.

I have nearly 7k miles on my PerformaBuilt Level 1. And it works great. Just dynoed and it ran fine on the dyno and immediately afterwards. I'm getting a tune next week and my first track passes on it shortly thereafter. This company has demonstrated a good product and excellent customer service to me! These guys are friendly and will take as much time as is needed to answer questions, so take a step back and re-read some of those threads. Your summary of those other threads doesnt mean crap, let people make up their own mind instead of you giving it to them.
Oh and I guess my entire point is now invalid cuz i only make 320 rwhp. Uh oh. Wait a sec, i bought a built trans because....oh yeah!....the stocker gave out at less than this much power . So 320 doesn't impress you, well i guess that means you're swinging a big package. Oh wait, that doesn't impress me either.
+1 for PerformaBuilt.

Thanks, but I can also see where Frank could have misread what I said. I think we both misinterpreted each other's posts and it got a little out of hand. When I was talking about those links, I was not putting down the user's car, I was simply stating that I was not impressed that performabuilt's transmissions could handle the stock power. I guess I should have been more specific in my original post, so here it is:
Who has a performabuilt transmission that is putting down more than 375hp, running faster than mid 11s, and has been using it for longer than six months?

Well you are not going to get a year yet because we have not been around that long yet in this arena . But In time, Our transmissions are unique in many ways and time will show that, We have of course had some growing pains and a lesser company could not have delt with them as we have , We started from 0 and went to 15 and some weeks 20 units a week overnight and that fact we do make a good product and stand behind it caused that to happen, But we ae growing and learning as we go and we are as my boss says not going to be just a player but our goal is to give our customers the best transmissions/customer service on the PLANET no joke and we have the backing to do just that.
Time will tell!

our parent company has been in busines over 30 years but the net is a new to us but we intend on being a major player as I said we are going to strive to be the best on the planet. Trust me when I say where other companies have a failure they just fix it and move on we study it and figure out why it happened and make very sure every possible thing that can be done is done to make sure it dosent happen again,

Why not build a strong LS1 F body for R&D purposes? Seems the logical answer for a "performance tranny shop."
Throw in a stout N2O or FI based LS1(over 450rwhp) and go racing. When the tranny breaks you take it out and then figure out what went wrong.
Do you guys personally race these stage 1,2,3,4+ trannies? Valid questions and a not meant to cause anger or for you to take offense to.
What more good press could you ask for if you race the transmissions you sell, especially if they hold up to some serious abuse

I have had my Performabuilt level 2 in for a while now(5 months). I have made several nitrous passes(my car makes around 530-540 with a 100 shot) and the transmission has never missed a lick. It shifts great.
I really like the stall that they have, it is very streetable. One suggestion would be to get a larger stall than you think you will need. Performabuilts' stalls are tight. I really like them because it makes street driving better and it doesn't loose power at the end of the track.
