Default Raced a NEW Highly Modded GSXR-1000 Tonight!

The Black Widow and I started to head out to the Starbucks for some coffee, which none of the HPD guys showed up at, and there was nothing but a bunch of bikes there. We proceeded to go to our next usual hangout and very few people were there so we decided to roll down Westheimer towards HWY 6 and then go home. At Westheimer and the Beltway, three bikes roll up on us and one of the guys asks me if I want to race...I said "Hell yeah I want to race!" I guess I caught him off guard since my car is so quiet and then he asked me again to which I gave him the same exact reply.

We go past HWY 6 on Westheimer and turn around at the Westpark Tollway. 2nd gear punch! My car just spins and he is at my back bumper! I grab 3rd gear and he is at my door! Top of third, and he is not pulling! I let out and we try it again. This time I start out in 3rd gear. We hit it and it is a dead even race all the way into fourth!

We then pull over and he tells me that my car runs very strong for what it is because his bike runs a 9.6 @ 147 in the quarter mile. (I do not believe this because my car is nowhere near that fast.) I then tell him that my car has a stock shortblock, heads, cam and nitrous and his jaw just drops! LOL! I ask him what he has done to his bike and he tells me that it has full exhaust, bigger injectors, power commander and a few tricks to the head.

To say the least, it was a very good run and I was very impressed and kind of surprised that my car could hold off a new modded GSXR-1000!

Let me know what you guys think.

Either your car is fast as ****, or that bike needs a little more "Tweaking" in the tun! Congrats on the kill.

Thats awesome man. We raced one Friday night modded. Went from the 65 roll to 160 and had him by about 6 bikes. Of course my buddies Z06 is pushing 800+ to the wheels.

800+ to the wheels is no joke! The guy was a very experianced rider from what his buddies were telling me. One of his friends that was out there with him was riding a stock GSXR 1000 and he told me that the bike I had raced puts about 5-6 lengths on him!

Was the one you raced yellow and black with a tall white guy riding it?

If you have at least 800rwhp in your car, then I can see you possibly beating him. My husband has an 04r1 than runs 9.8's (stock and lowered) and the only car he has lost to Kareem's supra at 950rwhp and of course Peter's old viper.

Either way, congrats on the race

No need for 800rwhp, all riders are not made equal.

Well if you want to beat my husband, then that's what you need. I'm not trying to sound cocky, but I'm just going on his experiences. I'm sure there are some lower hp cars that can beat 1000's, but like you said, all riders aren't equal.

The way Nick's car is set up the power comes on hard and instantly. I know he's making a ton of torque on the bottle and for playing on the street thats what you want. He doesn't need time to "spool" a turbo like most supras do. If he wouldn't have spun he would have jumped out on that bike quick.

Well I'm sure he's in the top 4% of riders on that bike, however a few things change when you put a poor, or newer rider on a bike. For one that time goes straight out the window, and for two bikes are not as fast from a higher roll due to the lack of aerodynamics.

Not saying you aren't correct about your husband, just saying a poor, or inexperienced rider could be the culprit here.
