Default Anyone on here using Thunder Racing heads?

I bought my Camaro several months back,it has thunder racing stage 2 heads on it.I was just wondering if they are a good head compared to some of the really popular head packages Ive seen. Also with these heads and a cc306 cam, full boltons(except cutout and e.w.p.), do you think I can make 400 rwhp?A4 by the way.

Those might be ported by GTP since I think that's who they used to send heads out to. I don't think the port them in house.

You can call and ask. Did the previous owner tell you that's what was on it or is it stamped?

The previous owner wasnt the one that got the work done but he had the receipt for all the parts. It listed the heads and cam package on there as well as most of the boltons.

Yeah because everyone on here will know how good the heads you have are just because they were bought from thunder racing, even though we don't have any idea what kind of heads they are, stock castings, afr's, trickflows, ect, or who they were ported by and when. Or what converter you have, what driveline its going to be dyno'd through, what kind of dyno it's going to be dyno'd on, or what the rest of your supporting mods are.

All the receipt said was thunder racing stage 2 heads, and cam package. Also said $2795.Wouldnt that make you think they were thunder racing heads too?

Thunder sells them, but that says nothign about who cast them (AFR, TFS, GM, etc) since Thunder Racing does NOT cast heads. I don't even think they port heads either. They sell a product, that is it.

They are really busy. Call them and ask who ports the heads for them and what the "stage 2" consists of. They do not do it in house. I'm almost certain they are GTP stage 2 heads.

Can you read the casting numbers on the heads? They should be under the valve cover. Any aftermarket heads should have the name stamped on there.

Meaux is porting for futral but not thunder as far as I know. All their stuff was done by gtp for a long time. They did some inhouse stuff when steve stumph worked there but he left. I doubt you have a set of those heads.
