Default Anyone one else hear about this? (Ford Dealer)

A guy at my work just installed 390s in his 04 Mustang GT and he took the car to the dealer to get the car reprogramed for the gears and they would not do it for him. They told him Ford will not allow nor is the so???are available anymore to do so, due to some federal emissions bla bla bla. So has anyone else herd dealers doing this now?

Also if any local shops or anyone else would be able to re program the car for him some where in CT it would be great. Thanks, let me know

im a ford dealer tech and its just the dealer covering there ***..
when its normal people in the world,no problem.... but than theres people in the world that lets say they want to get there preferences set...like gear ratio .... than they blow there trans up a month later and blame it on the guy that just changed there gear ratio preference!!!!
they say ohh i have a reciept from you! i dont blame ford...
shame you dont live close to south philly because id do it for you for free... than theres no probs at all...takes 2 mins.or you could just but a hand held tuner.

I don't know why people go to dealerships for performance work. Tell him to call Dez racing in seakonk MA. I'm sure Mike & Brian can take care of him.

You better watch it, some shops will report in the system that has been done so when it comes to warrentee issues they can see its modified, since gears are hard to tell if they have been changed, unless they are looking. At least you really need to get the service guy really upset to do that haha.

I'll have to ask my bro, if his dealership does that, or would they turn him away.

Thanks guys. I mean its no big deal its just plug it in and change the ratio around. Hes not getting anything installed just changing the computer for the new ratio. Oh well I guess hopefully we can find somewhere local due to the fact the car is going to rack up miles with the speedo reading much faster then the car is going, he would have to drive it wherever it goes. Thanks for the info

Having any aftermarket program voids warrentees they train to look for tell tail signs for it, hopefully when the pcm dies (ford seems to always have that issue) they didnt notice it was messed with and can get it under warrentee.

I can see his thought process, i myself would still go to a tuner.
