Default I just got a 1968 Barracuda! **Pictures now included**

Not that any of you care, but I just have to tell the world! My brother just gave me his 1968 Barracuda. Along with a brand new 318 that he built that is still on the engine stand, rated at 450 rwhp., new front end suspension, 9 inch rearend, wheels, Predator carb, vic jr. intake, etc... etc... I just can't believe that this is happening! He says it's for all of the past birthdays and Christmases that he has not given anything to me. What a guy!! I know, I know -> but I don't have any at this time.

UPDATE - Pictures now included on second page!!!

Thanks man! I've always been a huge Mopar fan. I grew up with them in my family. I used to drive a 65 Barracuda with a 225 inline 6 in college. My dad and brother have owned more Mopars than I have fingers or toes. I'm pretty excited about getting something done with this one. It's going to be weird having my 383 stroker motor that I'm building for a future GM car right next to my new 318 motor that will eventually go into the '68. I'm so blessed!

I campaigned several Mopar strip cars in the early 90s. Loved them. Congrats on the recent addition to the garage.

Hey thanks! You know back in the late 80's I would frequent Temple Academy Dragway (aka little river) and there were numerous Mopar strip cars. Now whenever you see one at the track it's like a huge treat! You never see them at the track anymore

That's a fair question. I said rated like it's a sure thing. It's a guestimate from my brother with the years of experience he has building motors. He is usually right on or a little under. But you are right, I won't know until I get the motor in and to the dyno and/or track.

Thats fair enough. I didnt know if that motor had already been together and was just refreshed using similar parts. Like I said, I didnt mean to call you out or anything, just curious.

Most of them are worth too much money to trash at the track these days.

Hey is it a fastback or a notch?

68 fast back cuda is basically my favorite car ever, ala the 68 Hemi factory race cars!

Congratulations! Very nice. '68 'Cuda is my ultimate drag car. Love to do a Hemi Super Stock clone and run at the track. I'm also a old Mopar fan. My first car was a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T - 383, 727 auto, 3.91 Sure-Grip, B7 Blue, with B5 interior, Black vinyl roof, and Cragers S/S! Sold it long ago, thinking I'd find a better one that had the matching numbers and didn't need quarters and trunk pan, etc. Still looking......

It is a notch or coupe to some folks. I agree those Hemi factory race cars were awesome, but I have a thing for the notches . It's going to need some paint. I'm thinking dark charcoal gray or black. I would go the route of one of Chrysler's famous 60's or 70's paint schemes, but the car is not an original matching numbers car.
