Default LT4 valve covers

Is there any difference in the LT4 and LT1 valve covers. I got a set of LT4 brand new from GM and look just like my LT1 did i get the wrong part or are they the same. I was told the LT4 were supposed to be taller for clearance for rockers

Are they metal or composite material. LT1 has a metal cover while LT4 were composite. LT1 valve covers are kind of finned kind of, while LT4 covers are flat on top except for a groove that runs the length of the cover.

LT4 Composite Valve Covers are differnt and about everyway except they are centerbolt. They are made from a plastic like material. They Clear most aftermarket RR's on the market but some (like mine) needed to cut allittle on the inside. THey have little pieces that hang from the top and they would just touch when the rockers moved. Dremel tool took care of that.

Hope you can see alittle difference. They will run you about 300 for a new set and used sets arnt that much cheaper. I almost STOLE mine from someone that didnt know what they had.

They are quite different yes, more squarish, but rounded not pointed. Very bad *** looking. My buddy has them on his 94 Vette I'm not telling him how special they are so I can trade him mine + a little bit of money

Nope Stock height that just dont have all the side to side bracing in the inside. They are braced just not as much because they are thicker that the stock stamped.

I think if you buy some from GM they run about 130 a side or close to that. They you need the bolts and a set of gaskets. If you buy the Gasket Kit from Auto Zone it comes with the washers for the bolts. The gasket to the head is a trim to fit, or at least mine was. If you search on here enough there are many threads about them with all the part numbers listed.

I guess since you already have them, you have them, but you could have just clearanced your stock LT1 covers to make the rockers work fine. I probably worked my set over for a hour or two and have never had any issues with my promags hitting my valve covers.

Very true, and Most powder coaters have a black crinkle coating that looks good. That or a Gloss black. The stockers just look cheap-o-depot to me. I use mine to collect dust.
