Does this hold water with you? I think that is a bold statement. So if your running boost,and your running VP and you add meth injection what kind of power increase should you see from just plain old 91 pump gas? With my setup currently and adding the claimed 14% I'll add 126hp

That sort of reminds me of the bolt on parts in a JC Whitney catalog. If you buy all of them and add up the claimed increase, you have 3million hp.

You can definitely push a safe 93 combo if you run 100 octane.

Also highly oxygenated fuels (VP import for example) make more power, just have to throw more in to do so. But putting that in a stock car would get you nothing most likely. Of course you can add more timing/boost or whatever but then its really not the fuel thats making more power, it just allows you to make more power

I completly understand what your saying, but changing from 91 pump to 100 octane allows for a 100+ hp increase? I think that's a little far fetched, don't you.

Sure it is, but its just an advertisement. I guess if you could add 5 more psi by switching from 93 to 100 you could pick up that power. but I think the advertising is more for the 150hp import crowd But highly oxygenated fuel will make more power, just wont pass a fuel check.

5psi? Maybe from 91 to 100 (9 full point difference in octane, on a 346 motor you can add about 1psi for every 2 points I think is the rule of thumb)

Even on KP's off days, he'd still know more than me, though.

Probably depends on the car's ability to adjust, too. I've got a bud that runs an upgraded turbo S4 Audi and his PCM will recalibrate itself significantly to higher octane fuel.

I'm just saying that you would have to add 5psi on a car like mine to make another 100hp, I ran the car quite a bit on 4 gallons of 104 and 1 gallon 93 at 15psi (about 102 motor octane). And I also ran the car at 10psi with 93 but never went any higher then that.

So their 14% claim of power increase from 91-100 could be valid if somehow a car could adjust itself for increased octane like RW99 said. Just putting it into a non detonating car without changing anything will see a few % power increase from being oxygenated (maybe) but thats it.
